Skyrad 0 #1 May 1, 2009 Jusr watched it. The worst fiction posing as a true story I have ever had the misfortune of watching. Utter crap. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Skyrad 0 #3 May 2, 2009 2008 with Daniel Craig. I recently read the true historical account of the Bielski Otriad and it was truely remarkable. The courage of the Bielskis and the people who survived was extraordinary. The true story didn't have Stukas bombing the camp or fights with Panza grenadiers and their tank having just walked through the swamp (which they did). The film paints Tuvia out to be a ignorant peasent with a good heart, like some kind of saint. The real man left his first wife for his second who he was having an affair with and then proceeded to cheat on her with many other women. They stuck together though until he died decades later. He was intelligent and self educated and a man of remarkable resilliance and ability. The true story of their survival was in some ways more mundane but also alot more heroic than the two dimensional comic book hero crap of the film. I'd recommend the book which is well researched and has many testamonials of the partisans. I wouldn't use the DVD for anything other than putting a mug of tea on. What a shame that they dishonoured the true story which was itself remarkable. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
