DavidB 0 #4 May 9, 2009 When you get to soil pipe, cast iron tubs & 50/50 solder we'll talk old school. My father didn't build his last house, but he bought it new without plumbing, heating, or drainage, & installed it all himself. A couple renovations and an addition over the next 40+ years had us working on each of his old school systems. When we built the new house 5 years ago my only concession to "plastic plumbing" was the drainage. Instead of thin, cheap black ABS though, it's all sch40 PVC. Otherwise it's again baseboard hot water heat, all copper supply, old school standing pilot heat & hot water. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
