DavidB 0 #6 May 10, 2009 Only inconvenient as I have a friend that was a teacher of the deaf until they made her the principal of the school (Katzenback) about 10 years ago... JohnDeere 0 #7 May 10, 2009 Awesome! They seemed to be more into it and mentaly there than the average 1st time jumper. To see them sign in the air is great. they seemed more mentally there than most. Reminds me of a deaf jumper i met awhile back that i was sitting down with with a translator. He had about 35 or so jumps and i was asking him about his exp. with jumping. He said he def. had an advantage in free fall..... that he could actually talk to other deaf people..... my dumb ass had not put 1 and 1 together untill he pointed it out. Nothing opens like a Deere! You ignorant fool! Checks are for workers!
BillyVance 35 #8 May 10, 2009 Yeah, we deafies can talk in freefall. Short quick statements, not long drawn out sentences. Kinda hard to do that at 120 mph. One of my favorite jumps was a 22 way speed star that later transitioned to two 11 way stars. Off the Casa, the organizer and his co-organizer led the exit off the ramp, and John Woo and I were side by side first to exit facing aft with 10 jumpers each behind us. I beat him by just a couple of feet and immediately signed to him "hahahahaha", he responded with a "fuck you" and a grin. Fun times...
