rlucus 0 #1 May 8, 2009 This is one that has always bugged me... Assume an equal number of men and women living in the same house. Why is it a man's responsibility to put the seat down when he is done but not a woman's to put it up when she is done? Why is it not everyone's responsibility to configure the toilet to their own needs before using it? Personally I'm a proponent of closing the lid when it is not in use, but I always leave the toilet as I found it when visiting someone else house... Thanatos340 1 #2 May 8, 2009 This topic has been covered sooooo many times here. When I walk into a bathroom, I look at the toilet. If I have to Piss, I make sure the seat is up. If I have to Shit, I make sure it is down. I jhave never been able to figure out why women find the idea of Look before you sit so complicated. If the seat is up, put it down.I still say the solution is to leave the Plunger in the Toilet. It only takes once or twice before the women in the house learn to LOOK before they sit. downwardspiral 0 #3 May 8, 2009 I tend to put the seat down out of courtesy but only as long as I'm not bitched at when I leave it up.www.FourWheelerHB.com

mrwrong 0 #5 May 8, 2009 It serves only one purpose that woman want us to close the lid on the toilet..... It's beacuse when they pee the piss splashes up onto the underside of the seat..... They just want to cover up the fact that even they are slobs in there. End of story!!! No I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything... hungarianchick 0 #7 May 8, 2009 Quote Assume an equal number of men and women living in the same house. Assuming this the can will be used a lot more with the seat down unless more than half of the occupants are constipated. Therefore people (I mean menfolk) should make sure it's down after a whizz. I don't need my dog drinking that nasty water regardless of the fact that the person has flushed. It makes me sick to see dogs drinking out of the toilet and I'm sure as hell not letting mine! Only dogs I've ever owned could easily lift the lid (and did). Currently only have a cat and closing the lid keeps him out :)
ifall 0 #13 May 8, 2009 I've caught mine starting to. Heard him try a couple times and took corrective measures. And no I do not ever hit my dog or any animals, a simple change in the tone of your voice and they know you mean business. He doesn't ever try to lift it and he could if he wanted to easily. I also make sure there is always water in his bowl.

chiquita24 0 #16 May 8, 2009 Because women pee more! (Ok so I don't know if that's really true or not)! And because men pee all over the seat, the floor, the toilet bowl and just about everything around it. No one wants to look at that.

No it's because women like to assert their dominance in their domain. skybytch 273 #21 May 9, 2009 QuotePersonally I'm a proponent of closing the lid when it is not in use Me too. That way I have to lift something to use it and put something down when I'm done. And so do the male occupants of the household. Seems incredibly fair to me. And it keeps pets, children and drunken friends from drowning in or drinking from the bowl. Shotgun 1 #22 May 9, 2009 Why do you people deprive your poor pets of drinking from the toilet bowl? I figure if that's what they want, let 'em have it. I mean, they lick their own butts after all. Only one of our four cats drinks from the toilet, and he's the one that used to live with Frank. I've been wondering if he learned that from Frank.
