A man from Germany has been jailed for life for stabbing a Nottingham student 86 times after stalking his girlfriend.

David Heiss, 21, from Limburg, became infatuated with 20-year-old Matthew Pyke's girlfriend Joanna Witton during a series of internet exchanges.

"David Heiss was very clever on the internet, and he learned a lot of information about Joanna Witton and Matthew Pyke and others.

"It is very, very interesting that he could do that.

"One of the things that's important here is that people need to realise that on their computers there is a lot of personal information that other people can gather.

"We know that Heiss found out a lot of information about where they lived and where they worked and all sorts of things about their social network that perhaps now with hindsight they wouldn't want him to know.

"So people need to bear that in mind when they are on their own systems using Facebook, people need to be careful."

That's way too close for comfort[:/]

Soooo quick question... since personal protection in the way of things that go boom..and there seems to be a lot of stabbings instead.... how big a knife can you carry to counter those who obviously do not value other peoples lives?

Lets not turn it into an SC thread.. I am banned again.... so would not be able to read it...

I think a few classes in English.. might have helped a few people in SC.. rather than all of the science maths and engineering classes.:ph34r:

I don't believe that we're allowed to carry any blades these days. The police are very touchy about them.

I found this ...
Quote

"It is an offence for any person, without lawful authority or good reason, to have with him in a public place, any article which has a blade or is sharply pointed except for a folding pocket-knife which has a cutting edge to its blade not exceeding 3 inches." [CJA 1988 section 139(1)]

Hmmm perhaps an"enhanced" walking stick.. in light of my recent injury.

The propensity of those who prey on others to thumb their noses at the laws that we have to abide by.. concerns me as I get more old and decrpit.[:/]

I hear what you're saying but I don't know what the answer should be. I don't want to be armed and don't want the general numpty population to be armed either.... Low IQ, Alcohol/drugs and firearms don't mix well.
