BillyVance 35 #1 May 11, 2009 So the Food World store in my town is closing at the end of the month. Signs outside the store proclaim 25% to 50% off EVERYTHING. Time to go stock up on stuff. Went down every aisle. Lots of the popular dry packaged stuff were gone, most of the meats too, large sections of vegetables gone already. Everything I needed, I got 25% off, except for gatorade and beer, only 10% off. 10%??? Scroogy bastards! $260 worth of food and drinks for $190. Can't complain, but there was nothing at 50% off. Maybe I waited too long. skydiver30960 0 #2 May 11, 2009 Most of the meats and fresh veggies: they would've stopped shipping that stuff in since they knew they were closing and it would have to sell quick. Dry goods: probably got shipped/sold to other stores since they're light and easy to move. Beer and Gatorade: too heavy to ship anywhere and still make a profit, so it's easier to sell it where it is at a discount.
