I consider myself to have a rather high tolerance to pain but this…. Well a complete different league. It was nothing short of excruciating pain… And this masseur, what did he do???? A deep tissue massage works deep into the muscles and a connective tissue massage works more with the connective tissue such as tendons and ligaments. I had a combination massage once from a guy that did all kinds of different techniques (deep tissue, myotherapy, connective tissue, etc.) and I would say the connective tissue definitely hurt more than the rest, but when it was too much he backed off. To me a good therapist would have backed off a bit if it was too much, especially if you were flipping him off because of the pain. I'm not at all thinking he should have backed off, he even gave me some pauses so I could get my breathing back to normal again.. But thanx for clearing up the difference between deep tissue and connective tissue massage.... I knew all along there has to be a difference....
