LuckyMcSwervy 0 #27 June 3, 2009 Good!! I know when I go down to The Keys, I always look in my shoes and pound them out before slipping my feet in... I would FREAK if I encountered a little scorpion friend toes first.... Always be kinder than you feel.
boinky 0 #28 June 3, 2009 I feel your mental pain. Fortunately neither of us had any physical pain from those little creepy buggers. In the fall of 2005, I moved to Texas. I was in my place MAYBE an hour and one of the things went crawling across the floor. Being from Georgia, I had never had any dealings with them and was pretty freaked out by it. *When I threatened to move back to Georgia because of them, my loving boyfriend threatened to surround my truck with scorpions because he KNEW I wouldn't cross that picket line! *I slept with the lights on the entire time I lived there. *I never left any clothes on the ground, nor shoes/socks. *I checked my sheets every time I went to bed. *I looked every place I was about to put my feet. (although you do realize the little shits can climb as high as ceiling fan blades, right?) *I never put my hand in a cabinet drawer without looking carefully first. I tried to make a "game" of it by naming them. And at Christmas time, I even made Christmas ornaments out of a couple of them. This went on until I moved out in January of 2006. And when I was shopping for a new place to live, what was one of the first questions I asked the potential new landlord? "Does this place have any scorpions?" He assured me that it didn't. FlyingJ 0 #29 June 3, 2009 QuoteBeing from Georgia, I had never had any dealings with them and was pretty freaked out by it. When my family first moved to Georgia (Marietta) we had them all over the property. It was a new development and all of the new houses were finding them inside. We used to frequently find them in the dishwasher and in the laundry room, so I can only assume they were hanging out where there was some residual water. My poor mom. 4 kids under 8yrs old and she was introduced (via the kids finding them) to both black widows and scorpions right after we moved in.Killing threads since 2004. boinky 0 #30 June 3, 2009 I grew up in Smyrna. Lived there my entire childhood. I had dealings with spiders, bees and even a few poisonous snakes. Fortunately, never had any scorpions come visit me. I made sure I've told everyone that I want nothing to do with the three S's! *Spiders *Snakes *Scorpions Nina Are we called "DAWGs" because we stick our noses up people's butts?
