bigway 4 #1 August 19, 2005 First off, i love...ed my wings, The customer service was great and it is the most comfortable rig on the market in my opinion. Now, could do with some advice from anyone who has owned a wings W9. When i bought my rig through my dealer i made sure that it would fit a 150 and be able to downsize to a 120. I am nowbeing told that this rig W9 is made for a 150-170. What i would like to know is what the smallest canopy any w9 owners have safely put in their wings w9. I have just bought a Safire2 129 and am now being told i will be needing to buy another container, this sucks cause my brand new custom made wings that was meant to downsize my main to a 120 only has 80 jumps on it and now i have to buy a new one? Any advice? Please know that i do not think 'Wings' is at fault here, just my dealer for wrong information and bullshitting me. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . Canuck 0 #2 August 19, 2005 Pack it in there and see for yourself. I suspect the rig will be a little squishy, but it will hande it better than would a rig with the closing loop attached to the bottom flap - at least you will be able to keep good tension on the pin. DeNReN 0 #4 August 19, 2005 well????...what was/is the solution??? I have a W10 and my new Tri 175 is quite a snug fit....I dont anticipate any problems when I downsize to a 150 in a couple hundred jumps.
tr027 0 #5 August 19, 2005 So what was the fix?? new container or not? what is the true size range of a W9?? I've looked online for a size chart online but havent found one yet."The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. bigway 4 #6 August 19, 2005 If the W9 was made before september 2004 it will fit smaller canopy (129). Ankie did say though that she would help me with my container if it was needed because of the position or miscommunication on my dealers behalf. if it was made after sept 2004 it would not fit a smaller canopy, mine was made in april 04. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . DeNReN 0 #8 August 20, 2005 Hmmm....you just got me thinking so I checked my rig....its a W13(oopsy).... ordered it for a PD176R and a Pilot 168(went with a Tri 175 after a heart to heart with my instructors)....which makes even less sence to me now Maybe Ankie,Gareth or someone else can explain this....I'm confused(which is not uncommon)
uponone 0 #9 August 20, 2005 a W9 and a W13 seem like they should be alot farther apart in sizing then it sounds like they are ....i'm confused.

freeflajankie 0 #11 August 20, 2005 Hey all, This is why we do not have a sizing chart availible online. We have changed the sizes. And if anyone needs to know what sizes they can put in the container. They can contact me and I will be happy to help, ankie@skydivewings.com I can explain a few things here. Lets start with W1 W2 and W3. They all have the same reserve tray but a different main tray. The W4, W5 and W6 has the same main tray as W1,2 and 3. For xample W1 and W4 is the same main but they have different reserve tray. So there for it doesn't mean that because you have a higher number you will have a bigger rig. A W 7 is smaller then a W6 Confusing??? Maybe, but I know what canopies goes in what container so there for I want people to contact me instead of looking at a chart and pick their own size. What will happen then is that some will insist that they can pack a 150 in a 120 tray and then bitch when they cant. This is also to ensure us that if we size something wrong with a rig its on us and we will take it back and fix it or make a new one, at no cost. Like when I sized a 170 and made it for a 107... Acidentely switched the numbers around... But hey, we noticed it before the rig left and had a new one made in 2 days... So what am I saying, we want to keep our customers happy AnkieSkydivers are a bunch of insensitive jerks... And that's why I don't skydive anymore! bpeck 0 #15 February 16, 2008 I am gonna have to disagree here. Nobody wants a rig they can not resale very well and a rig no one knows what will fit doesn't sell very well. When someone buys a new rig you ask what they are going to put in it anyway, yes? So why make it difficult for everyone to know hey this W2-2 will fit a 160 Reserve and a 190 Main? I can see that this Mirage this guy over here is selling will fit my ____ main snugly or loose and fit my _____ reserve medium, for about all canopies. Wish I got a reply from Wings in 5 min about sizing a container, been three days and nothing.
bigway 4 #16 February 18, 2008 UM, The person you are replying to made that post 3 years ago and has since left working for wings. I have a feeling you might also be sending the question to the wrong email account as they did change ankies email due to too much spam. The other reason may be because it is the weekend and Scarlett is probably not at work fielding emails. Ankie provided top class customer service and now Scarlett who has been left with massive shoes to be filled is delivering excellent service. I have never waited longer than half an hour after morning office hours for a reply from Scarlett, so this leads me to think you have the wrong email or your message arrived with them late friday and need to wait until monday for a fast response. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
