Hey, this isn't Blizzard you're talking about. There's probably nobody up in Cupertino right now to flip the switch for a mid-night launch like they do in Irvine.

My guess is 8 or 9 am Pacific Time at best and the web site is going to be hit pretty hard the first several hours.

I sure hope you're wrong. I'm only 5 beers in and I don't know how much longer I can stay up. :D

I can't believe they didn't stick an intern with a remote connection with the job of doing it. :D

Edit: That sounds like a guess I read. The person said apple stuff usually comes out mid morning so that people wont wait up for it and they will download it as they wake up at the appropriate time in their timezone to spread the server load a bit. That seems very logical.

My roomate got it last week;). It was leaked and he is an apple nerd so he got it for both of us. I haven't installed it yet though, I guess I'm just not too anxious for it. He says it's awesome. When does it come out for real? I could send you the torrent when I get home if you wanted.

I installed it on my 1st generation iPod Touch. The landscape keyboard in the Mail app is just such a huge improvement it made the $10 cost to upgrade worth it.

As I am also a MobileMe subscriber I tried the Find My iPhone/Touch feature and although the Touch doesn't have the builtin GPS it narrowed the location down to our cul-de-sac very quickly. It gives you the option to wipe your Phone/Touch remotely and send a message to it. That was pretty interesting.
