Differences between Talon FS and Voodoo?

Recommended Posts

Can someone tell me the difference between the Voodoo and Talon FS?

I saw today RI finally had the FS page up on their site. It says the Talon FS has the Voodoo harness, and Voodoo reserve tray, with "an improved box for the main"? Not quite sure what this means. Is this an improved Voodoo? Or an improved Talon?

Also has a "cut in back strap"? Again, not quite sure what this means.

Will some gear head toss some knowledge my direction please.

Thanks

Edit: I corrected my spelling:P
Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

It's a Talon based on the Voodoo design - basically the 3rd generation Talon. The ones I've seen look nice; I haven't packed or jumped one though.

Think "cut in lateral" - like what's available on Odysseys, Wings and Mirages.

It's really similar to a Voodoo. The Talon FS just has a little different main canopy tray. Where the Voodoo is curved from the bottom of the reserve tray to the backpad (over the main pin flap and BOC), the Talon FS is more "boxed" with a BOC pocket that is more perpendicular to the backpad (like most containers). Basically, the difference is supposed to be that the Voodoo is more aerodynamic when flying head up.

There are a bunch of Talon FS and Voodoo's down here in Eloy, and they're both real nice.
