slotperfect 7 #3 August 12, 2005 The best way to get the answer you are looking for is to call your harness/container manufacturer and ask them if the canopy you are considering will fit in the container you own or are planning to buy. If you are looking to put a new canopy in your Micron, I would call Rosi Sigmon at Relative Workshop. rosi@relativeworkshop.com or (386) 736-7589Arrive Safely John
councilman24 37 #4 August 12, 2005 Be aware that even if you found one, unless one person did the testing, the results will vary by testor. Last I knew Sandy Reid, who was doing this to develope the PIA chart, Jump Shack, and Precision Aero were all doing it differently. There are likely more variations out there just on technique. Also, two individual canopies of the same model and size with the same options my have up to 20% difference in volume! And, so far I don't know of any comparable physical measurement of containers. Volumns are either based on theroetical volumn from drawings or based on what canopies fit and THEIR variable measurements. So DON'T buy a reserve listed as 360 to go in a container with a reserve container volumn published as 350 without talking to the container manufacturer and asking if it will fit. You rigger will hate you, or in the worst case not be able to make it fit at all if you have a "small" for the size container and a "big" for the size canopy. This one http://www.jumpshack.com/Read/Tech/canopy_volume_chart.htm may be the most complete at the moment. But up to 03. No Katanas. Chairman PIA rigging committeeI'm old for my age.
