ripcord4 0 #1 August 11, 2005 A question: would mounting a Pro Dytter / ProTrack or other audible alti INSIDE your helmet result in a lag in reading the altitude? Would there be any pressure differential inside the helmet to slow the altitude readout? I do not own one but I am considering purchasing a unit. tcnelson 1 #2 August 11, 2005 mine (protrack) is located inside of my rawa cam helmet and i haven't noticed any deviation from where my alti's are set and when the alarm sounds in reference to my wrist alti. sometimes the reported speeds of the dive seem a little screwy but, they've never been outlandish."Don't talk to me like that assface...I don't work for you yet." - Fletch NBFT, Deseoso Rodriguez RB#1329
Reginald 0 #3 August 11, 2005 The technical answer is “Yes” You can read the downloadable instruction manual to confirm that. In practice I have never noticed any differences that were material. If my wrist mounted mechanical altimeter says it’s 4,000 my protrack is telling me it’s 4,000."We've been looking for the enemy for some time now. We've finally found him. We're surrounded. That simplifies things." CP
phoenixlpr 0 #4 August 11, 2005 I have a ProTrack inside my Z1. I can see 300m on my alti when my ProTrack indicates the same.
Travman 6 #5 August 12, 2005 The protrack manual says the mount it on the leg for the best reading as that is where the air is cleanest.
jurgencamps 0 #6 August 14, 2005 That's for only for speeddiving. I have a problem to hear my protrack when it is mounted on my leg .
tso-d_chris 0 #7 August 16, 2005 QuoteThat's for only for speeddiving. I have a problem to hear my protrack when it is mounted on my leg I think the leg mount is for when the altimeter is used as a data collecting device instead of an audible. In theory the data should be more accurate than if mounted in a helmet. But you're right; it makes it very difficult to hear your audible!
