Incident - Not sure where to post

Recommended Posts

Last weekend we had an incident at the Ritz (West Plains Skydiving, Ritzville, WA)

A well known, local S&TA decided he could fire walk at the bonfire, was having some balance problems (I assume from some vertigo from an inner ear problem but I can't be sure), and during said firewalk, the S&TA fell, suffering a large gash on his shin area of his leg. Tequila was reportedly used to cleanse the wound, bandages applied, and the next day an eminent skydiving physician, Dr. Pete Hill evaluated the wound and said "fuck it, you will live".

No students were reportedly involved in this botched landing, this skydiver with close to 2000 jumps apparently botched the approach all by him self, and no blame should be laid on the Kokanee sucking students or experienced jumpers at the scene.

Names have not yet been released pending notification of kin and Muttley. Please refrain from personal attacks, and lets all pull together wishing for a full recovery.

Stats:
Jumps - about 2K
Ethanol loading - estimated at 0.18
Experience level at said ethanol loading - extensive with only previous scrapes and bruises
Conditions: Clear, new moon, flickering lights

Hear is to a full and speedy recovery to the injured party.

Doc

PS This is what you get for interupting our carnal events to report your dumb ass behavior - not once but 3 times:o:o:o

this is a second hand acount so i can't say for sure but i heard that safety procedures were not practiced before said firewalk and that bal was approx .18. again this is speculation and I don't want to slander said s&ta but it is so that we all may learn from this unfortunate event.:P

Oh, I'll definitely be back. It's waaaaaaaay too much fun there to stay away. But would you do something about that pathetic speed limit on the way there?

Duhhhhhhh - pure speculation, but multiple witnesses have told me that the estimate of 0.18 may be a very conservative estimate of the ethanol loading, and it could have been as high as 0.24. Now i personally have seen the victim at an even higher wing - er ethanol loading whilst driving his Toyota tundra (black) at a high rate of speed over bumpy Montana roads while I tried to unsuccessfully keep from spilling my fucking Lang Stout on my brand new Lang T-shirt, hence my sig line:S

You know, the last time I heard Dr. Hill utter anything closely related to medical knowledge involved the following exchange:

Anonymous person: "So, what kind of Doctor are you?"

Dr. Pete Hill: "Not a very good one."

Everyone knows, even those of us not in the medical field, tequila is best applied INTERNALLY.

I am shocked he didn't successfully complete the landing and that he ran into a rock. In the past he has been reliable with his landings....I am wondering if the fire wall was too high for him? did the said alcohol ingestion be due to multiple types of alcohol or was he drinking strictly one liquor?:S:S
