DavidB 0 #26 June 29, 2009 Having met many hundreds of persons in real life that I interacted with on the web, I've learned that probably 80-85% are who/what they portray behind a keyboard almost completely, while others are nothing like their on-line persona. Some of the nicest people I've known on-line turned out to be real dicks, some of the biggest assholes on-line turned out to be really pleasant & gentle, but mostly they are who they are. The exceptions are on the small car board I belong to. About half of the 130-something members are NY, NJ, Pa. locals, many of them friends for decades. We bust on each other hard. It can get really brutal at times. The only rule there is: "LEAVE YOUR FEELINGS AT THE DOOR!" Use your imagination. Yet you meet these same people at a car show & they are normal, with families, kids, pets, & all that, just like real people. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. gonzalesna 1 #27 June 30, 2009 I can enunciate on the forums... something I can't ever do in real life. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
