TheBachelor 5 #2 July 6, 2009 "TIN/DLN" is your Taxpayer Identification Number, which is usually your social security number. It can be other numbers for businesses. EIN (Employer Identification Number) is how the IRS tracks the particular employer. If you need it, and don't know it, you'd have to get it from the company if they're still around. I'm sure the IRS can give it to you also, but it may be a hassle. I haven't had to get W2's from the IRS, but I did get copies of old tax returns.
