skittles_of_SDC 0 #3 July 9, 2009 Quote yup, its possible, i did it....HAIR and Wicked. I've only been to 2 in my life. God, Cats is a terrible musical. The Lion King on the other hand was absolutely amazing. I wish it would come back to Chicago.
Thanatos340 1 #4 July 9, 2009 Cool. We did Rock of Ages and In the Heights Last weekend. Great Shows. I must say that we were blown away completely by Rock of Ages. I despised "Hair Bands" back in the day but enjoyed the hell out this show and was caught several times singing along. I loved that they had wait staff bringing you drinks DURING the show. My Girlfriend really loved that she could order a Bartles and James Wine Cooler to complete the nostalgia. Whether you are a Child of the 80`s like we were or not, This show was fantastic and the highlight of our trip. The "narrator" really stole the show and kept you laughing. The music and story were cliche but that is exactly what they were supposed to be. Set on Sunset strip in 1987 in a rock and Roll/Hair Band Bar and and Strip club. In the Heights was great too but in a much more traditional Broadway since. Great show to take the family too however it was just overshadowed by the rock of ages show we had seen the night before. Also spent Saturday at the Met (Next time we will have at least 2 days dedicated to Met as one day is just not enough) and hanging out in Central Park on a beautiful day. What did you think of Hair and Wicked?

(early 90s) I had the oportunity to see either Cats or Les Miserable... I didn't know what either of them were about at the time and chose Cats... I'm still disappointed at my decision... I'm right there with you. It was an 8th grade field trip. We were supposed to go see the blue man group but the band teachers bitched and moaned cause they were taking the band to blue man group so we had to see Cats. GaryRay 0 #8 July 9, 2009 hair was good, i thought it was really good b/c it was my first broadway i saw, but in reality, wicked completely overshadowed it and put it to shame. my uncle who came with said he didnt like it that much and he's seen a few shows. wicked was amazing, the performance, the set, the entire ambiance was awesome...except waiting 3.5hrs in line for cancelations to get 2 ticets 5min before curtain =D....well worth it.JewBag. www.jewbag.wordpress.com
mdrejhon 8 #9 July 9, 2009 Quoteyup, its possible, i did it....HAIR and Wicked.I saw two relatively high end Broadway shows in NYC in one day a few years ago -- very expensive though! I can't remember the names anymore, but one was a foreign theater and it used screens at the bottom and to the sides to display subtitles. That was kinda neat for me, myself being hearing impaired.
