FrEaK_aCcIdEnT 0 #1 August 8, 2005 did a search and found one related topic but it was old. Im wondering if anyone has tested or purchased one. it says: Altimeter with Zero Drift Technology uses a special algorithm that determines whether a barometric pressure change is caused by altitude change or a weather system, letting you accurately track your ascent/descent rate, current altitude, maximum altitude, and accumulated altitude. I was thinking of purchasing one and getting someone at the DZ with more experience to test it for me to see what thier thoughts of it were against a analog alti. if anyone has already done this test. what were the results and would u recommend the purchase. i found them for as low as 75 first bid and 100 buy it now with a buyer protection and a 100% feedback. plus they give a satisfaction guarantee. here is one listing. http://cgi.ebay.com/NIKE-Alti-Compass-Barometer-Altimeter-Man-Watch-WA0018_W0QQitemZ5021112481QQcategoryZ31387QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ExPeCt ThE uNeXpEcTeD! MB38 0 #2 August 8, 2005 Are you wishing to use this watch as a general altimeter or a freefall altimeter?I really don't know what I'm talking about.
nael 0 #3 August 8, 2005 From those pictures it looks like the numbers may be a bit small to read clearly in freefall.www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
MB38 0 #4 August 8, 2005 I also expect that it wouldn't update often enough to give accurate current readings.I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Elisha 1 #6 August 8, 2005 QuoteI also expect that it wouldn't update often enough to give accurate current readings. Something I'm also skeptical about. A guy I know works for some technology company that was building some sort of similar watch (don't know the name). He had prototype that had an alti in it. He mentioned the update as well. I took it on a skydive and put it next to my analog Alti-2 and I think it seemed to update ok. Again, it (a watch) is too small in any case to use as your chief altimeter. JoeT 0 #7 August 10, 2005 Nike advertises these as cycling watches. I wouldn't use it for skydiving unless you really want to earn your username.
