Just like the skydiving waivers - you cannot waive negligence. I know people who got paid for broken/cracked windshields due to shit falling off commercial vehicles (dump truck, and a flatbed carrying heavy construction equipment). The law says if your load is not secured and it comes loose and damages other vehicles, then you are at fault. At least where I live... and yes, I've seen the bullshit "not responsible" stickers.
