anyone ride a motorcyle been hit with a lit cigarette?

If I was a motorcycle rider, I'd rig a hidden gun and silencer on my bike and set it up to aim at the offender's tire if they pissed me off. >:(

your friends should also be caught and jailed if they toss rocks and bearings - they don't have the right either

Nope, they are not responsible for objects coming from the road. The same reason a dump truck does not have to pay for the windshield of a car that was following too close.

haha - that's just too funny. Just because there's the sign on the back of the vehicle saying they are not responsible, that has very little bearing on what the law says. Just like the skydiving waivers - you cannot waive negligence. I know people who got paid for broken/cracked windshields due to shit falling off commercial vehicles (dump truck, and a flatbed carrying heavy construction equipment).

I once pulled up next to a convertable, on a multi-lane road, at a red light & had a ciragette bound off of my chest. I yelled, "Hey!" at the guy. But all he did was shrug his shoulders & reply, "What are you going to do about it?" I picked up the butt & tossed it in his back seat just as the light turned green. He had to pull over & get out of the car to retrieve it.

Friends of mine carry ball bearings or rocks in the pockets of their riding jackets for the tail gaters.

good for you. I think it's inconsiderate and a safety hazard. Where else does one throw a cigarette onto an internal combustion engine ?

Exactly. The law says if your load is not secured and it comes loose and damages other vehicles, then you are at fault. At least where I live... and yes, I've seen the bullshit "not responsible" stickers. They just hope that you are not a pit bull and continue chasing your ass and calling you out.
