IRS examination by mail

Recommended Posts

I got an IRS examination by mail notice for my 2007 Federal taxes (oops).

Some how I under-reported Federal withholding from a W2 form by $600.

After verifying I picked the "I agree with all changes" box, so I could be getting a late refund in time to pay a mechanic to fix my car which stopped starting last week.

I seem to get some sort of adjustment notice every other year... Just got one from state from 2005. It seems they got a notice from Federal about an adjustment THEY did two years ago and wanted their piece of the pie.

*Sigh*

Funny, I got an automatic adjustment because I forgot to include the SSN of one of my daughters. The language wasn't all that nice - blah, blah, there's nothing you can do, we're taking $500 from you, forget about arguing it, blah, blah.
Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
