Read my rant, I am pissed

Recommended Posts

Scrounge together any and all money I can to pay for classes... tuition of course went up already this semester.

Then, we get told that we might not get to keep many of the classes we registered for, because of budget cuts.

Then, they require us to pay a month earlier than normal.

Then, two weeks after tuition is due, I get a letter that says tuition has been raised 20% this semester, pay up or you're kicked out of all your classes, no full reimbursements.

FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK YYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUU.

Some of us are living on tight budgets. Some of us are paying for this through loans, which have already been granted. Some of us had to get many advances from many places to pay what you already charged because you required us to pay early. Now, some of us are FUCKED, and PISSED.

Here's a better summary of how it works again.

-"Pick your classes."
-"You might not get those anyway"
-"But pay me now. And pay me more."
-"Pay me early, or you're kicked out."
-"Thanks for the payment."
-"Actually, pay me some more-- and do it now, or I'm kicking you out."
-"You can't have any of this money back."
-"Oh, if you're on a payment plan, this 20% doesn't apply to that. You can pay me the difference in one chunk, or you're kicked out."
-"By the way, you probably won't get those classes you signed up and paid for earlier than we said you would have to..."
-"Good luck graduating!"

Let me add on to my rant. They are also limiting us to 14 credits during our initial registration. The minimum requirement to be a full-time student is 12 credits. My classes are 3 credits each. So?....

Even a retard could do that math and figure out that the minimum requirement to be a full time student is the maximum amount of classes I could possible register for, so thanks for that little gem of generosity.

But don't worry! "You can register for the classes that aren't completely full after the semester starts!"

Well whoopty-fuckin-doo! Because then I got this letter:

"Classes that aren't filled to 75% capacity by the first day of classes will be cancelled."

Fucking incredible. So I can't register for all the classes I need now, but i can after school starts. Which is good, because there might be a lot of empty classes since they are limiting registration. Oh wait, they limited registration, which means the number of students in a class will be limited, which means they are going to cancel it.

I don't know what ass-backwards stupid mother fuckers are "running" this system but I could eat and in-n-out cheeseburger with fries and a soda, then drop a nasty shit in my backyard and it could do a better job of running this so-called university system. And I would, but I can't afford the burger because i am out of money from paying for the classes i won't get to take.

I feel you... I'm getting out of the military in 10 months and trying to figure out what I need to do to start school in Fall of 2010...

The system is fucked up. :|

Don't even get me started on in-state tuition residency requirements...

Right now I'm stuck deciding between Portland State University and University of Utah.

Oh no, I already went through that.... that was the freshmen-sophomore year fight.

-Bank account
-Driver's license
-Have to live there for a year

Who knows what else by now, I'm probably forgetting something. I love how they tack on an extra 5k just because you don't meet those requirements.

State school or private school?

You mentioned no full reimbursments. How much would you lose by telling them to just piss off and refund you?

If enough of you threatened to do so as a group...

LOL only 5k? Both schools I mentioned are an extra 7-8k but from my research I'm pretty sure I can qualify in either (I'm currently a resident of Oregon while on active duty, and if I pick Utah my enlistment in the guard will qualify me as a resident)

I can only imagine the nightmares I'm going to have getting my money from the Veteran Affairs.

Only a year left though, that's what sucks... I'm set up and in a great position for when I get out of school... it just seems like they never want me to get there :S

And yes, Cali state school... San Jose State. I would transfer but I have full intentions of being the few, the proud, the small percentage to graduate in 4 years (with a minor too... unheard of here)

made my day...its like the perfect fuck you pic.

The best fuck you pic I've ever seen was of a guy holding his rig and sticking his birdies at the camera. He sent that pic to a would-be scammer looking to send him a bogus check for his rig. :D

Like Michael Dell, for one... My brother shared some classes with him at UT (Longhorns)

He started assembling cpus in his dorm room.
