Anyone Here a Keller Graduate?

Recommended Posts

I was asked to attend Keller, it is early yet and I may wind up with a B in just one class, so that screws my record.

The dean is a nice guy and seemed very interested in getting me to attend.

Any info?

Pay expectancies for being a grad from Keller?

Right now I am finishing CIS with a emphasis and certs for Forensics and Security.

How were you asked to attend Keller? I've got a lot of dealings with Keller and its parent company and multiple deans through out their system. Overall... not that impressed.

Its looked at the same as any other Masters degree from a low level school. Some times it will help, most other times employers could care less about it. If you are looking at CIS unless you are wanting to get into upper management its usually not worth the expense unless you are getting it for free. I've got a lot of peers in the industry that have MBA's from University of Phoenix and Keller and none of them are close to getting a raise large enough to cover the expense for their schooling yet compared to what they were making before school.

Certifications like CISSP, MCSE+, CCIE are a better option in IT then a masters unless you want to do the management track.

I've got a lot of background in IT security and unless you are wanting to get into the research side where a PHD is needed there is no reason I see to get a Masters to get into the field.

Verbally in the deans office, it seems some instructors are of the belief I should attend grad school.

I thought more of them than that.:|

Yes I would like to get my doctorate if I can get it paid for.

One of my former Profs does side jobs for the government as a contractor for a little more than $275 per hour.

But then again, she is a true genius.
