Cheach 0 #3 August 7, 2009 I have lived in my current house for over 4 years...but I still consider my Mom's to be 'home'.I woke up next to a blowup doll Ash....so what do you think?
LuckyMcSwervy 0 #4 August 7, 2009 I put 1-2 months. But that was when I finally moved into my house after it was done being built. I think it took longer for me to feel like this was home because I was here alone. It was almost a year after my divorce was final and it was the first time I was truly "alone" in 13 or 14 years. Chin up!! Always be kinder than you feel.

Baksteen 84 #7 August 7, 2009 I've been living at my current address for close to five years now, but as the ridiculous rents in Amsterdam forces me to take in two housemates, I've never considered the place to be 'home'."That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom

It depends on how often you move and how long you were in your last home... as a kid I never lived in the same place for more then 3 years (not the same city and all but once, not the same state). As an adult, I've never lived in one place for a full year, (except one dorm room that was 1.5 years but was split in the middle by 6 months in Iraq, hell even that felt like home after a month)

GaryRay 0 #10 August 7, 2009 i just got out of the military where i stayed in teh barracks for 5yrs, i considered that more home than i do this place as of right now. i have 1 roommate but the house is well designed and i have my own private bath/shoewr and half of the house. i even have the patio area w/ grill =D. but i lay in my new bed at night trying to fall asleep and thinking about this place as a sleep over more than my home...its a weird feeling, ive never felt it before, i hope it changes soon.JewBag. www.jewbag.wordpress.com

councilman24 37 #13 August 7, 2009 I've lived 3 places since 1980. Only 8 total, three houses growing up, one dorm, one apartment in college, on apartment after college for 8 years, first house for 20 years and current house for a year. My home town still feels like home. Current house, closer since we sold the old house in April. But not yet. Two kids under 3 haven't given us time to even hang pictures let alone finish unpacking. I figure another 3 or 4 years minimum. At least I don't turn the wrong way anymore. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
