masterrig 1 #9 August 19, 2009 Brett should've just retired from the Packers (as he did) and left it at that. He was 'on top' now, he's just an older player trying to re-live his 'glory days'. Chuck

I do think, he needs to realize that the world of football does not revolve around him! Why? It's not like he's an unknown to the team, or like the team has a gun at its head. If he's washed up, but he gets hired anyway, the criticism should be directed at the team that hires him, not at him. He's a job applicant who may or may not be qualified to do the job for the salary he requests. If the employer, with the ability to vet applicant's qualifications, chooses to employ him, but he's less-than-qualified for what he'd be earning, the criticism should be directed at the employer, who has the final decision to hire or not, not the applicant. Misternatural 0 #18 August 20, 2009 >Who cares? It's interesting to debate whether an athlete should continue to produce stats, chase a championship, or sit down enjoy their career and retire. I am all for the old guys making a comeback and such but ya gotta know when to say when. Brett has cahones But he risks becoming his own fool in the spotlight after a decent career. Take Marino for example, now thats class. How about Cal Ripkin...... another class act- granted you could argue that baseball is less damaging to the body. If Brett needs money he could easily cash in on his fame- chain of restaurants,Endorsements, Commercials, Motivational speeches etc. His own line of hunting and fishing gear a la Ted Williams. I just hate to see the guy make a spectacle of himself late in his career. - on the other hand if he DOES have a good injury free season we WILL all have to zip it.
