jimmytavino 16 #27 August 17, 2009 well then, speaking of tomatos the cherry tomatos have been ripening for a couple of weeks now and the bigger ones are just now starting to come in... The BEST..... is a tomato & cucumber salad... WITh generous pieces of red onion, a HUGE handful of fresh basil,, ( those plants are pushing 3 feet in height, ) LOTS of salt, some pepper, some oregano, and some oil and vinegar.. I prefer that salad to be made up, mixed well and Chilled in the fridge, before enjoying it. Oh and another great thing is the basic Tomato and Mayonnaise sandwich..
