Pet Urine...

Recommended Posts

So my roommate's dog got in my bed and pissed on it, I'm talking full sized pee.

Anyone have any experience with getting pet urine out of a bed or am I shit out of luck?

Thanks

You can find a lot of answers thru google.
This one is probably the easiest

I generally just use vinegar and baking soda with some water to clean dog urine and those 'grass-throw-ups'.
That is usually just stomach bile plus grass.
Car-sickness pukes with food are baking soda and vinegar too, plus a blanket over the car interior makes things even easier.

Whatever you do, do not use ammonia based products.
Be careful about using the peroxide because it beaches things.

Usually dogs have pee problems as a puppy or moving to a new house.
If the dog is older and has been there for awhile make sure there are no medical problems.
Very old dogs may have bladder problems when sleeping.
Then train the dog to stay out of your room. You can even train them to be allowed only when invited.
My dogs are trained to stay out of the kitchen wherever I am cooking, but they can go in there any other time.
They also have a strictly off-limits room.

If none of that works get a water bed.
Wash the linens and be done.

There is a stuff called Anti Icky Poo, I chit you not...:D Supposedly it works and its the best, however first you need to deep clean your mattress with a powerful upholstery machine to suck out the urine and remove as much of it as you can. You can rent those at most stores.

And last but not least your roomate needs to house train his dog.:S

Am I the only one who thought it was funny the way this post reads on the thread index page with the title followed by the original poster's name?

Thanks for the website Jan. I tried it and I'll see after it dries. If the smell is gone great, if not looks like I'll get another new mattress :(
