Do you ever find yourself apologising...

Recommended Posts

For someone else's fuck up??

Is this something that women tend to do more than men? Am I just spineless?

I just had a really difficult conversation caused by someone else's cock-up.. In favour of keeping the peace, *I* somehow ended up apologising?? WTF?? I don't know what's wrong with me - this is a stupid thing to do, because it only makes the other person feel like what they've done is ok & thus encourages them to do it again.

I'm so annoyed with myself. >:(

Well, in the US it is customary to apologize to the Vice-President if he shoots you in the face.:S

Was this business-related? On behalf of stubborn friend?

I do not often apologize unless to someone I love deeply to whom I might have truly been insensitive to. Or, I might give a contrived apologetic response worded-in-such-a-way in business if there is something to be gained for both parties.

On your voicemail, do you say: "I am sorry to miss your call; please leave a message..."? It infers weakness. Instead, state: "I am unable to take your call, please leave a message..."

There really is a time to apologize and a time not to.

I like to always maintain control. I listen. I tell so-and-so I understand their point, and here is another view; we can work this out this way. I do not apologize unless clearly one is in order from me or anyone else.
Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

It is only appropriate if you say "I apologize for bringing this horse's ass into your life".
Remember, you are judged by the company you keep.;)

And, yes, I know I am opening the door for all sorts of ridicule :D:D

Be patient with the faults of others; they have to be patient with yours.

"Sorry" can also convey the emotion of regret and sadness, not necessarily an apology. Such as "I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to have sex with you." That's not an apology, that is sincerely regret,:P

Sort of,
No,
and No you're not.

I don't actually appologise for other peoples mistakes (that's their place) but I do say/feel sorry for situations that others find them selves in...

I know that it's not my fault but I'm sorry that you are having a shitty day ... type of thing.

Peace comes from within. There's not much one person can say to create it within another, anyway.

.......But keep saying stuff like "someone else's cock-up". It reminds me why I LOVE British women. :P;)B|

I don't know why there would be any ridicule about such true statements.

Oh, and don't apologize for it. :)

As long as you didn't try to explain the other persons behavior by saying, "Oh, that's just the he is." Sorry, (there's that word again) but that's a sore spot with me. "He's a real jerk but that's just the way he is." I don't care if that's the way he is. If he's an asshole, that's unexceptable. Assholes should be a pariah and be avoided by all of society. Just as "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" an asshole with any expanation still smells like shit.

I have a low tolerance for assholes even though I've been one myself and for that I apologize.

In the business world, we often apologize to a third party for the screwups of a second party. Do I apologize to the idiot who screwed up? Only with severe sarcasm in my voice.:P

The problem is, at your work, when that third party idiot needs to be apologized for, it ends up being a house that is in need of an aircraftectomy.:D:P:P

:D:D Yeah, when I have a bad day at the office, it usually makes the papers.:S

And it depends on the section in the paper it is in that tells you how bad tomorrow will be . . .
