wmw999 2,584 #1 September 9, 2009 DZ.com is NOT a private conversation among friends. It's a public forum, in which conversations among friends are recorded. Which means that the contents of those conversations are available for non-friends at a later time. Just because you have to register to see Incidents, or Bonfire, etc. doesn't make it private. So if you think your wife is cheating on you, or your boyfriend gave you herpes, or that a student who had a shitty time should sue the DZ, take it to a private forum where the results are NOT saved. Like the phone, or a personal conversation. Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

wmw999 2,584 #6 September 9, 2009 I'm not distressed that Larry posted that -- it's a great use of DZ.com. He's the DZO and he's well-equipped to take appropriate action. But there are other suggestions in that thread that are, shall we say, less intelligent, and more appropriate to a private conversation over a beer. kbordson 8 #9 September 9, 2009 A wise reminder. Probably wouldn't hurt to be a sticky... but probably should be a stickly on ANY website on the internet. Lots of comments out there that people make feeling "protected" by being behind a screen.

At least one of those suggestions is not appropriate in any conversation between skydivers, ever.
