Memo to all

Recommended Posts

DZ.com is NOT a private conversation among friends. It's a public forum, in which conversations among friends are recorded. Which means that the contents of those conversations are available for non-friends at a later time.

Just because you have to register to see Incidents, or Bonfire, etc. doesn't make it private.

So if you think your wife is cheating on you, or your boyfriend gave you herpes, or that a student who had a shitty time should sue the DZ, take it to a private forum where the results are NOT saved. Like the phone, or a personal conversation.

I'm not distressed that Larry posted that -- it's a great use of DZ.com. He's the DZO and he's well-equipped to take appropriate action. But there are other suggestions in that thread that are, shall we say, less intelligent, and more appropriate to a private conversation over a beer.

At least one of those suggestions is not appropriate in any conversation between skydivers, ever.
