JerryBaumchen 1,468 #26 September 4, 2009 Hi John, Quote Blount's a sucker punch thug in my book. I watched the game with my son ( a U of O grad ) and his girl-friend. She had commented earlier that Blount looked like someone just released from prison. I called the U of O President today and requested that Blount be expelled. His secretary said the phone lines were smoking. When I got up this morning I couldn't wait to get today's copy of THE OREGONIAN to see what John Canzano's comments would be ( the best local sports-writer ). As you can guess, he was all over it. Gone for the season: Not enough in my book. But it sure has made for some great local conversation. Stay tuned, film at 11:00, JerryBaumchen

skittles_of_SDC 0 #29 September 6, 2009 Expulsion is a little over the top. If you were in a bar and walked up to some dude hit him on the shoulder and proceeded to talk shit directly to his face would you expect him to walk away? If he did the same to you would you walk away? Honestly Blount may have been wrong but Hout is just an idiot. If he thought he was gonna smack a dude on the shoulder and talk shit right to his face and that dude was gonna walk away he's obviously stupid as hell. You people seriously need to lighten up. skittles_of_SDC 0 #31 September 7, 2009 Quote How do you know he was talking shit - do you have some sort of shotgun mike none of the other newscasts did? Yeah because in high school when I played football after the game I'd go up to players smack them on the shoulder say "good game" and that would cause my coach to try and pull me back. Oh yeah and I used to get punished by my coach for my saying "good game". Use some common sense.

Misternatural 0 #33 September 8, 2009 >Expulsion is a little over the top. I have to agree, a suspension from a few games would be more appropriate in my opinion. Really people,a little perspective- it's football- controlled aggression as I said.....On the field during a play a full speed rib crushing hit to a receiver during a mid air catch resulting in a gurney trip to the hospital is perfectly OK because the rules are being followed.......this is Irony at its best. Technically this incident could be ruled simply as unsportsman like conduct because they were still on the playing field, as such it was equally unsportsman like to taunt an opposing player while still on the field. -off the field incidents like this are a clearly a civil matter and a legal offense. However I realize this isn't the NFL but football players are not usually expelled from the team for aggressive behavior on the field, because as I said....isn't that the point? Maybe I am jaded but ......I bet that some promoter will try to contact both players to get them into the ring, so lets drop this bullshit false sense of honor because at the end of the day....let's face it- that's what most sports fans, (who we know are all perfect angels in THEIR every day life) really pay to see- violence and drama. Misternatural 0 #35 September 8, 2009 sorry for the delay- you know more about the law than I do and I would appreciate an educated explanation as to why the police did not have to intervene, but from what I see- acts of contact aggression off of a refereed sports playing field, rink, track, or ring are called assault, say for example a Raiders fan tackles a Broncos fan against a car in the stadium parking lot. I just don't think this young players life has to be vilified and ruined because he threw a punch at the end of a game....how many bench clearing fights at sporting events have we watched over the years with no charges, no sanctions, and nothing but screaming fans spilling cups of flat $8 beer on each others grandmother. Is this because he's a college student? is the honor of the college somehow at stake and if he is not hung to dry society will devolve into complete anarchy? someone please explain. The only sporting event I have yet to see a punch thrown is Golf Beware of the collateralizing and monetization of your desires. D S #3.1415

I was just giving some examples if it had occurred in Texas what actions could be pursued. Even then it depends on the CA. Also, please understand that there is a significant difference between a fight and assault. A fight has two or more willing participant in the physical altercation. Assault doesn't.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Hey, Bob Barker hosted an episode of WWE Raw last Monday, and beat up one wrestler. It wasn't as good as beating up Happy Gilmore, but it was still funny. It really depends on the circumstances, but a good-old-fashioned fist fight between two guys would typically be DOC Fighting, but that depends on a lot of things as well. If you really want to know the nitty gritty details, drop me a PM, but yeah the short version is that people will either be cited or most likely arrested if LE is near.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
