I got a good, strong screw, but it didn't leave a smile on my face

Went in for surgery to have my fractured bone removed from my foot (see pic). Woke up with a screw instead. I do enjoy a good screw, but unfortunately this one didn't leave a smile on my face. Now I'm on crutches with no weight bering on my left foot for at least two weeks

Yesterday at my pre-op appointment doc said there was a 5%-10% chance I would end up with a pin in the foot. He said he was totally surprised to find the fracture had healed about 60% on its own. He was fully expecting to just remove the bone today.

On a positive note, I get to take a nice long PAID leave of absence from work

I get to be happy and spend LOTS of time on dz.com over the next couple of weeks. ruh roh

10 years from now, you will be greatful for that screw...if they had removed the bone, you'd limp for the rest of your life!
