NickDG 23 #1 September 26, 2009 Check out this link if you were stationed at Camp Lejeune anytime between 1966 and 1985. It concerns a possible health risk. I was there in 1971 . . . http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/09/25/marines.breast.cancer.folo/index.html NickD
 GaryRay 0 #2 September 26, 2009 best of luck to ya Nick, but did they really say school circle back in the day too?JewBag. www.jewbag.wordpress.com
 NickDG 23 #3 September 26, 2009 Jeez, you "New Corps" guys kill me . . . But to anyone who served after you did, you'll always be "Old Corps" NickD
 lost_n_confuzd 0 #6 September 26, 2009 I got out in July also. 8 years and I was DONE! An old LtCol once told to not let anyone talk about the old corps unless they brassoed a chest plateRegardless, he still talked about the old CorpsThought that was funny...true story though. Seems pretty clear the Marines' conditions are a result of the base drinking water. 1. Contaminated water in the early eighties. 2. Marines recently coming out with similar conditions. 3. These Marines served at Lejeune during the same period. 4. The water was known to be contaminated. 5. The percentage of Marines with these conditons who served in Lejeune during that time are higher than the general population. Make your own conclusion. We had a NCO in charge of our jump club in Kaneohe Bay. One day a bad spot put us into the middle of a VIP golf tournament and it royally pissed off some visiting Japanese dignitaries who were playing in the game. (They take their golf very seriously). Our NCO is called onto the carpet the next day in front of our CO and several of the Japanese. The idea was he was supposed to apologize. One of the Japanese said something like, "You seem to need more practice dropping things from airplanes." And without missing a beat our NCO said, "Well, sir, we didn't do so bad in Hiroshima." Ya just gotta love the Corps, but oh my, did the shit hit the fan over that . . .
