Ketia0 0 #1 October 8, 2009 Because all my food got thrown away!! Ok, so i am like 10 different types of upset right now!! I keep all my grocerys at work because we ahve a huge dobule wide fridge, and a huge freezer next to it. I came to work this morning & they were all thrown away! That was my lunch and breakfast for today-monday!!!! So now... i dont have a lunch. & have to go grociery shopping AGAIN tonight... this stinks! And it wouldnt be so bad.. but Operators arent allowed to leave.. once i get to work, i dont have a specified lunch break. so i work from 6am-6pm... So i cant go and grab something. this is why we have a full size kitchen!"In this game you can't predict the future. You just have to play the odds. skydived19006 4 #2 October 8, 2009 Why would someone do that? Cleaning? There's no way I'd make it 12 hours without food. Well, I'd survive, but I'd be all screwed up for sure! I'd assume that there's a vending machine, can you survive on peanuts, etc.?Experience is what you get when you thought you were going to get something else. davjohns 1 #6 October 8, 2009 Wow. Throwing out someone else's stuff is really rude. Even if there is a sign posted, only spoiled stuff should be thrown out. Otherwise, find the owner and have them handle their own food. Sorry that happened to you.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Ketia0 0 #8 October 8, 2009 About once every 3 months someone will get a wild hair up thier butt and decided to clean the fridge.. but they always give a 3 day warning, so that everyone can take thier food home till its cleaned out... Not the case this time... just stinks it happened.. "In this game you can't predict the future. You just have to play the odds. "-JohnMitchell

Ketia0 0 #11 October 8, 2009 You would think... but they dont care. Some people are out right jerks here... Like, if you forget to wash your dishes or something, some guys will throw them away. many pots, pans, plates, and silverware has been thrown away cause people will get caught up and busy doing something.. one time, we cooked a huge meal, and cleaned everything up except 2 pots. and in the 2 pots was still food. we were leaving it for night shift cause it was good. Well. the frist guy that came in got BOTH pots and threw them outside the control room... like jsut chuncked it!! needless to say, we dont cook and leave them food anymore."In this game you can't predict the future. Ketia0 0 #14 October 8, 2009 lol. we were joking around about taht after everyone was done venting.. they probably ate alot of our food as they were throwing it away. another operator was telling me his BBQ got chunked! BillyVance 35 #15 October 8, 2009 Maybe using a food container with your last name on it and the date written on masking tape will help? Still, sounds like there is no set of rules that are being followed here. d_squared431 0 #16 October 8, 2009 The set rule in every office i have worked in is fridays trhow out day. If you do not have your food labeled and or dated it gets tossed. The office I am in now I am the only one who brings lunch to work. The doctor leaves and the girl in from eats mcky d's every day.TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly
LisaH 0 #17 October 8, 2009 How about bringing your food in a day at a time. Just bring what you will eat. Put your name on your containers/bags and take home/throw away what you don't use. Too many employees forget about stuff in the fridge and it piles up. It sucks when perfectly good stuff gets thrown away, but I understand the necessary clean up after it's been in there for a long period of time.Be yourself! Ketia0 0 #18 October 8, 2009 Some put stikers on their with their name on it.. looks like the picture attached.... we have a bunch of the sample tag stickers... didnt help this time.. no, there is no set of rules.. and i highly doubt there will be. this control room houses a little over 30 guys ( we are all on a project right now, so 15 on days, and 15 on nights.) tigra 0 #20 October 9, 2009 QuoteWow. Throwing out someone else's stuff is really rude. Even if there is a sign posted, only spoiled stuff should be thrown out. Otherwise, find the owner and have them handle their own food. Sorry that happened to you. Have you ever worked in an office with a community fridge before? People are pigs. The all or nothing approach is really the only way to go. No one should ever have to decide what is spoiled and what should be saved out of an office fridge. Not to mention- no one is under any obligation to empty and wash your tupperware. They just cleaned ours last Friday or I would have tried to post a picture. Unbelievably nasty- if not for the lack of beer bottles, you would have thought the fridge was from a frat house, not an office with adults working in it! Still, all that being said- if you are purging the office fridge and taking no prisoners- you need to give people several days warning. A strict schedule with different people in the office taking turns is even better. At my office, they'll do it about once a month- two people will dump everything, labeled or not, freezers too. Then we pay the cleaning crew a little extra to actually clean them inside and out!
robskydiv 0 #21 October 9, 2009 Someone ate my lunch one day when I was working at this LTAC in Nashville. I just went across the street and bought a Rally burger. But get this, the same person opened a mountain Dew , took some swigs, recapped it and put it back into the fridge. The Mountain Dew belonged to someone else. BackFlash when I was working in a Leaf Plant. (Conwood LP) This guy asked me for a sandwich, I gave him one. The next day he took Bird's lunch wothout asking. Bird just pulled out a knife and slashed him a ouple of times, then fled. I guess taking someone's lunch is like a box of chocolates...
