virgin-burner 1 #1 October 14, 2009 ..letters you've never sent!? be them to possible, future, actual, past lovers, maybe friends, a group of people, maybe even to yourself!? maybe they got lost in your drawers, or you kept carrying them around for years? what do you do with them!? are they ever read again, or are they just there for your comfort? just preserved to be binned? what if your situation was completely different at the time of writing, what if only time and year have changed!? maybe, not even that really, and you find yourself stuck in the same situation that made you write them in the first place, again and again!? do you think that actually having sent those letters would of made a difference if afore mentioned was the case? how!? would you guess to the better or the worse, and if so, for who!? the writer, the recipent? would you still send those letters, altough they might be outdated!? for me, i find the process of writing extremely healing; my brains and mind are very often - to say the least - very chaotic, especially when emotions are involved. writing helps me to put things into perspective. it helps me to concentrate! i have bad ADHD, am extremely emotional, and most of the time i'm pretty much occupied with making sure that not everyone thinks i'm a complete nutcase, but apparently, i even fail at that..“Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. madhatter 0 #2 October 14, 2009 Everyone thinks I'm a nutcase, but I just let them. That way I get away with a lot more shit Used to write a lot. Letters, poems, just as an outlet for my feelings. Last year I was going through the stuff again and I realised that, by keeping all of it, I was also holding on to the moments that made me write it. I kept some of the stuff that had good memories and chucked the rest. A pity really, 'cause some of it was even better than SlyD's rantings, but it really helped me to face forwards and start anew. I still write every now and then, but if I recap and it's negative, I toss it straight away! Hang in there - you got your own thread on dizzycom of people that care for you - that should count for something! A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! CSpenceFLY 1 #6 October 14, 2009 If you write something with no intent to send it,it's a journal or a diary. I know many people that do this. I think it can be good for you. However, if something is bothering you as bad as it appears to be right now, it might be time to send some of those letters and get some shit off your chest. Sometimes it's time to purge people from your life. Move on and make new friends.
xtravrtsoul 0 #7 October 14, 2009 I do it all the time. I write poetry and that is writings I save negative or not. When I write letters to someone, I burn them after. I never send them because it is feeding into the negative energy they possess over me so I burn away. I journalled for years and when I went through my crap of hell with an ex and I had journalled, I went on a trip to get away from the hell and took out every page of that journal about him with his picture, ripped them up and tossed it into a random garbage can on the highway. It was freeing. You create life, life does not create you.

They say that one way to get rid of stress is to write a letter about it - when you have everything in the letter just right, burn it and forget about it. Easier said than done but the imagery and the ceremonious nature of the act seems to help. It works, or at least it works for me. I don't know why, I'm not a head doctor - but maybe one could let you know how it works the way it does.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
SARLDO 0 #12 October 14, 2009 I have written and sent letters in hopes of saving relationships... I have written and not sent letters after considering consequences of sending said letters... I have written and regreted sending letters... I have not written and therefore not sent letters which may have saved relationships... In the end, after many painfully failed relationships along the way, I married the most amazing woman imaginable, who I most definately do not deserve, without writing anything at all."Always do right.
