WatchYourStep 0 #1 October 26, 2009 What should I look for or steer clear of? Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
PhreeZone 20 #2 October 26, 2009 What ever one you get... get a Duvet cover (and duvet clips) for it. Washing the down takes some of the loft out of it each time and its a lot easier to clean the duvet cover. Higher loft is warmer, lower loft is less expensive. We've got 2 down comforters, one super expensive that was a gift and a second cheaper one and its hard to tell the difference when you are a sleep with it.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
kbordson 8 #3 October 26, 2009 I LOVE mine! I got mine at Scandia Down on the plaza in KC. This link addresses most of the questions that you might have. My main learning point - they're a LOT warmer than what you expect. Start lighter rather than heavier.
d_squared431 0 #4 October 26, 2009 Buy extra covers. You can get a basic down comforter and then put it in inside a cover. That way you dont have to take it to the cleaners you just toss the outter cover into the washer. Works great. PLFXpert 0 #5 October 26, 2009 Quote What should I look for or steer clear of? Down. We have this one with an awesome cover. I agree with everyone else on getting a cover. We do not actually sleep under ours, but a cover is still wise considering my cats_often_sleep on it. We also have a couple of those for our dog. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. shropshire 0 #6 October 26, 2009 Hey - Brit in the house...... what's a comforter? is it like a Duvet ? (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome
skymama 37 #7 October 26, 2009 Pretty much like a duvet. Here, a comforter would end just below the top mattress and you usually have a separate cover for the box springs that's all matchy-matchy with it.
