micduran 0 #2 October 27, 2009 Will they explain the difference between a shovelhead and knucklehead? Maybe if I watch it, I'll be able to remember. Be patient with the faults of others; they have to be patient with yours.

This is a Knucklehead..(my son's 1947)the rocker boxes are shaped much like a balled up fist. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v400/onekick/pipes023.jpg The Shovelhead picture it attached (i haven't owned one of them since 83) Notice the rocker boxes are shaped somewhat like a shovel! Both motors work on identical pincipals, shovels hold oil in better, (do to knucklehead rocker covers being stamped out tin, and shovels being one solid cast aluminum part)

micduran 0 #8 October 27, 2009 That is why I asked if they were going to explain it to me again. This spotter's guide is helpful, too. Be patient with the faults of others; they have to be patient with yours.
