airdvr 210 #3 October 30, 2009 That thing is way too big! Speaking from experience the whole cruise thing gets watered down with that many people aboard. Not understanding why bigger is better in this arena. On the opposite end of things, this will be our home for 7 days this December. Very excited. Please don't dent the planet. Tiger6513 0 #4 October 30, 2009 Yeah I tend to agree bigger isn't always better... smoother in high seas but I HATE lines and crowds. I have been on a lot of cruises and some of my favorites were "smaller" shipsTravis Roy Foundation. At very least its a tax write off
Skydave103 0 #5 October 30, 2009 It is an ugly ship! I don't really understand staying on a boat for your vacation, but then it seems a shit load of people do so they keep making bigger ones.LifeshouldNOTbeajourneytothegravewithawellpreservedbody, buttskidinsideways, cigarinone hand, martiniintheother, bodythoroughlyused upandscreaming:"WOO HOO!! Would that be a "B" or an "S"? "There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.

You don't stay on the boat...you wake up every morning with a new port to explore. And yes, it is ugly...with the lines of a cement block. Please don't dent the planet. I have been on several cruises with my family. My opinion is they are more for the vacationer looking to really relax. On a cruise ship, everything comes to you. You have a ton of options in a relatively small area. You visit multiple cities and countries without the hassle of packing, unpacking, flying, etc. I am all cruised-out. I prefer to visit one place at a time and really get to know it. I.e. get the locals' advice on the hole-in-the-wall secret spots. You do not really have time for that on a cruise when you port in the morning and have to be back at the ship by a certain time in the evening. If you have not done one, though, I would definitely say give one a whirl.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

aresye 0 #11 October 30, 2009 After I'm done with my 8mo cruise next year on the USS Harry S. Truman, I don't think I'll ever see a cruise ship as a vacation.Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours.
