Products you refrigerate...and why?

Recommended Posts

Any other items or products that you keep in the 'fridge that don't need to be?
WHY?

Bodies HAVE to be kept in the fridge or freezer - otherwise the decomp is too noticible.

However, the momentos of the occaisions do not need to be refrigerated unless the momentos are actually part of the above mentioned.
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

At the Iron Horse in Daytona there's a steak tip vendor that makes those and potatoes to die for...he kicks people out of line when they ask for well done.

THE reason I still go out there during the rallies.

I heard Europeans don't refrigerate their eggs. Any truth to that? Ours are on the top shelf.

Correct... we don;t put eggs in the fridge here (mom used to ... don;ty know why) but they are not klept in the chiller section at the supermarket (they're at room temp;) so why would I do it at home?

I grew up on a chicken farm and there were to choices on eggs to preserve them
1) refrigerate
2) treat or coat the shells to create an oxygen barrier making them last longer.

Useless fact - rotten eggs float, and fresh eggs sink in water.

We don't keep much more than milk and cheese in the fridge. Peanut Butter, syrup, ketchup and rest are in the cupboard (or where the kids last dumped them)

Eye drops....oh it feels so good to put cold eye drops in your eyes if you're eyes are itchy or you just need to refresh.

**stolen from Guppie's list***

Bread
Ketchup
Mustard
Butter
Syrup
Flour
Sugar
Potatoes
etc....

Just about anything other than canned / boxed goods.

g

I, also, put in the refrigerator
coffee
nuts
fruits
cooking oils

I pretty much do what Guppie does plus some additionals. If you leave anything out, the ants and bugs get all over it or it gets rancid with the heat. So, it's easier to put it all in the fridge (especially with as pricey as the stuff is), and just take it out to warm up a few minutes before needing it.
