SARLDO 0 #1 November 5, 2009 Just sitting in my cube, looking outside at the awesome weather, wishing I were not siting in my cube and looking OUT at the awesome weather. Today is just one of those days I just want to go jump out of an airplane. I think I need a new job, work used to be exciting and i'm not the cube farm type."Always do right. I have a big office and a big window... and would also much rather be outside. BUT the good news is it is roughly 55 degrees out and sunny and the drop zone will be open in about 3 hours. I can get one good jump in before the sun sets. And it will be worth the hour drive!Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

SARLDO 0 #16 November 5, 2009 Seriously DD, can you imagine a snow storm here? These folks can't drive on a dry road, never mind snow."Always do right. Yeah, around here (central Alabama), half an inch of snow falls and EVERYTHING shuts down. They have to, because of the morons around here who think they can handle it, and can't. SARLDO 0 #18 November 5, 2009 I remember being in TN when it started snowing and everthing shut down for less than 1/4 in of snow. I grew up in MA so didn't understand until I saw all the cars in ditches. I guess all those afternoons in the mall parking lot, puttting my car into uncontrollable spins and trying to recover, really paid off."Always do right. kmills0705 0 #21 November 5, 2009 I also lived in Atlanta for a while (95-96) and a couple weeks after I moved there they had about 1/2 inch of snow. Atlanta was completely shut down for 3 - yes 3 days!!!!! Later that season they canceled school because it was 11 degrees. Ok, I understand not having plows or being able to deal with snow (even 1/2 inch) but don't tell me the kids don't have coats!!!!!!Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

Winter coats are expensive and when it gets to those sort of temperatures 1-2 days out of every year it really isn't cost effective for parents to spend the money on coats for kids who are likely to grow out of them in another year especially when the money can be spent on other things like a roof over their head, food on their plate, etc...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
