I park in handicapped spaces

puuuuuuuudinnnnnnnngggggggggggg

But I've been recently pissed off with people using the handicapped toilets, when they are CLEARLY able to walk, and when I'm trying to get my motorized cart to take a poo poo at a department store or grocery store.

I just give them the evil look and growl profusely.

I use the handicap loos :$ I reckon they can hold it in just like anyone else, and if they can't they probably don't need the loo anyway 'cause they've got a portable little bag or something..

You'd be surprised how many people "look" okay but are truly physically handicapped. Just because you can't see it... doesn't mean it isn't there. :|

And not everyone who is handicapped *can* hold it in like every one else.

Does anyone here know anything about Multiple Sclerosis? :S

Maybe their passenger was the handicapped person.

Well they could have dropped the cripple fucker off at the door and parked somewhere else. That way the rest of the invalids can park there.

Hi Dude

FWIW: DANGER RANGER

Parking in a handicap parking spot without the correct plates or placard in Wa state can cost the offender a $300 parking ticketB|

On the flip side with the correct plates or placard handicap folks can park at parking meters in seattle for free:)

I've been bugging V to get some of those plates for a long time.:P

If nothing else, at least for the Christmas shopping season. :)

Hi J

Karen has had her plates for 4-5 yr's. Dr fills out the form, you pay a few extra $ and the plates are done deal. I think you can also qualify for a placard in case you own more than one car or don't want to spend the $$$plates.

I don't doubt that V could qualify and benifit from useing the handicaped plates based on her Lupus. It may not even require a Dr's visit to get the required paperwork. Group health may just send V one in the mail if V or her HUSBAND calls and asks for one:)
Start now and you 've got V her first Xmas present:)

Personally I don't use the handicaped spots when I'm the only one in the car. A lot of the time Karen doesn't use the handicap spots if she's having a good day.

Xmas you might be SOL due to supply vs demand.

OTOH the parking meter's in seattle. 1-2 times a yrB|

Maybe they were handicapped by a lack of taste.

Just a fyi...

Not all people have a handicap that is noticeable it can be copd, etc. Just because you don't see a limp wheel chair, walker, etc there is still a reason.

Not in this (or any other that I'm aware of) state!

If I parked my truck in a handicapped parking space, opened the back & pulled my brother's wheelchair out, went to the passenger door & waited for him to get out, even if he put his handicapped placard in the windshield, I'd be liable for a ticket. Why? Because it's not his car, it doesn't have handicapped plates & his placard is tied to HIS cars, not mine.

Reverse the situation: If I borrowed my brother's car & parked it in a handicapped space I'd be liable for a ticket the same as parking my own vehicle there.

FYI: In NJ if you see someone driving with a handicapped placard hanging from their rear view mirror, they are liable for a ticket (obstructing the view or something like that).

Absolutely. Obstruction of View is a Title 39 Motor Vehicle violation and I wholeheartedly agree with that statute. I hate seeing the blue placards hanging in a winshield while the vehicle is in motion.

Regarding the placard tied to vehicle..... In NJ, you can get the blue handicapped parking permit placard that is tied to the PERSON, not the vehicle. You get a little card that is a "disabled person" card that you must present to law enforcement if asked. So, the disabled person can go into any vehicle they want, and that vehicle can have the placard displayed... no worries.

It's the regular handicapped license plates that are so restrictive.... obviously tied to the registration of a particular vehicle.

It's that way in several states, including Florida. Like Palm beach County, where it seems every 3rd car has one. The cops there definitely do stop cars with placards hanging from the rear view. (In fact, in PB County, it seems you never see an unoccupied handicapped space at the strip malls, since it's the majority of the population that uses them. :D)

I am always tempted to pass comment to people who are clearly abusing the parkings regarding being mentally handicapped:)

My son asked why there were toilet signs on the parking bays about a week ago:D. He had associated the sign with toilets having seen them on the door and figured the wheelchair person was sitting no the throne.

Ditto here in Alabama. I know this for a fact cause I have both a blue and white placard for any car that I happen to be riding in and a handicapped tag for my 425 hp Dodge SRT8.
