chiquita24 0 #26 December 1, 2009 So sorry Karen! I lost my mom 1 yr and 2 months ago and not a day goes by where I don't miss her. I still cry usually at least once a week. Her memory lives on in my heart and I know that your dad will forever be in your heart. Sending love your way!

Shell666 0 #28 December 1, 2009 I am SO sorry for your loss, Karen. I've lost a parent too. Over time, it will get easier. You'll smile more often thinking of them and the memories you have. A quote from my friend's recent memorial sums up a lot about a person. I hope you find some peace in it. I did. And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years. ~~ Abraham Lincoln'Shell

MikeJD 0 #35 December 1, 2009 Very sorry to hear this. There's definitely a time for all of us to go, and I think you can take comfort that someone's suffering is at an end whether you believe in a hereafter or not. Sounds like he at least had time to make his peace. Heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
drdive 0 #36 December 1, 2009 Condolences, and hugs, Karen. If it was like my Dad's passing, there are mixed emotions of relief that the suffering is over with the grief of his loss. warpedskydiver 0 #38 December 1, 2009 My dad dropped on Thanksgiving Day 1 hr before he was supposed to arrive for dinner. We had to disconnect him on 12/4/1995 I will never forget that. I am sorry for your loss but after such a prolonged illness he was probably lucky just to pass on. I would rather go out standing on my feet with a weapon in my hand in a horrible fight, than to die sick, crippled, weak and unable to fight it.
