Relax....Breath....and listen to your partner.

It's all good...if you had the training it all come to you naturally

Bry

Yeah I had some of the most intense training ever, it was horrible, but we learned our shit. Problem is I havent been able to do antyhing with it in 5 months, so yeah its all just slightly hazy, lol. ive been looking through the protocol books and its coming back pretty fast, but then again im not in the back of a whambulance under pressure, :|

be smart, ask questions, and dont assume you know what you are doing. I'm assuming you are going to have to go through an FTO or a clearing process. Listen to everything and never uttter the response "yea I know" to the medic that is clearing you.

Ask your patients questions even if someone already told you the answer, patients stories and conditions change quickly. Treat your patient, not your monitor.

treat all your patients like the have hep or hiv, because its the ones you think don't that do. Be nice to stupid nurses, most of them have no clue what its like to think on the street. Good luck

You'll be okay, just don't do anytihing stupid.

Don't forget that regardless of the nifty monitors with blinky lights and piles of drugs you can push, it still all comes down to the ABCs. Don't let your head get so wrapped up in what you COULD do that you forget what you SHOULD do.

The same thing you do skydiving: Keep your shit together. Do what needs to be done when it needs to be done. Remember that a good plan now beats the crap out of an excellent plan too late. Puke, cry, scream, rant, whatever it takes to unload the pressure AFTER the call .. but do it. Not unloading leads to burnout.

Oh yeah .. smile :P
