"bla bla digging.. bla bla fiber..laying fiber optic in your area... bla bla..check for $250 just to participate.." They then went into a spiel about $99/mo cable/phone/wifi etc I was like NO WAY! They are detained until they can show me a city permit for solicitation. 99% of the time they can't and are run out of the neighborhood by patrol. There have been problems with fake salesmen using the cover to case houses for burglary. So those who say "they're just trying to make a buck," they sure are, by breaking into your house and stealing your stuff!--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
