Skiing or skydiving…or both?

Recommended Posts

I'm sure everyone here is biased already but hear me out. I want to take a trip in end of Jan/early Feb. My initial reaction is to go to a warmer DZ in Eloy, Elsinore, etc. but then I'm thinking...you can skydive almost 9 months out of the year (in warmer places) but ski only 2-3 months.

And then I thought...is there a DZ in a relatively warm place that also has a nice mountain or two for some skiing within driving distance? B|

And, to the wiseass that says 'both' and posts the video from Norway that combines skiing and skydiving/wingsuiting...sheddap! :P:ph34r:

Northern California's a decent option, though the skydiving weather may be somewhat unreliable in the winter, Tahoe's within an easy drive. One thing to consider though is that if you want to skydive every day, your options are more limited in Northern California than in Southern California (or other warm climates).

I think there is some skiing within driving distance of Southern California, too, but I don't know enough about it to know how good the options aer.

You won't make a jump after August because it's too cold to spend 5 minutes outside, but you'll spend a day out in the cold skiing? I don't believe it. Can't picture you skiing. :)

No Dave..i haven't jumped since August because I was unemployed from end of May until mid-October, not because of the weather. :P

And skiing? You mean you don't ski? Or is it too dangerous for ya?
