JerryBaumchen 1,468 #1 December 11, 2009 Hi world, I currently have a Brother, Model QL-500 label printer. After spending a number of hours with Brother Tech Support, they admit that they do not have an editor worth a hoot for working with a Mac. I bought it when I was still using a PC; it's works just fine with a PC. Anyone have a good recommendation of a label printer that will really work with a Mac? Thanks in advance, JerryBaumchen PS) When I do find other label printers on-line they all say that they work with a Mac; well they probably do but just how well is debatable. JerryBaumchen 1,468 #4 December 12, 2009 Hi Sky, Quotethe best solution is to throw your mac away. I've considered it more than once. Quotemaybe a dymo would work if you really do want to keep it. I am communicating with the DYMO people. Do have any specific knowledge that their label makers will work OK with a Mac; or is that just a 'comment?' Thanks, JerryBaumchen

novacaine 0 #7 December 12, 2009 Hey Jerry! I've been using, with great success, the Rhino 6500 for all my label needs. The downside, is that I had to get Windows specifically for my Mac's to make it work. However, I've been quite pleased with the Windows for Mac. My life has been simplified since crossing over this bridge. I have the best of both worlds!!!
jcd11235 0 #8 December 12, 2009 This may sound like a silly question, but have you tried bypassing Brother's tech support and downloading and installing the correct editor tool yourself from their Web site? Also, do you have the correct Brother driver for your operating system version? Does the label printer have the latest firmware installed?Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! JerryBaumchen 1,468 #9 December 12, 2009 Hi jcd, QuoteThis may sound like a silly question, but have you tried bypassing Brother's tech support and downloading and installing the correct editor tool yourself from their Web site? Also, do you have the correct Brother driver for your operating system version? Does the label printer have the latest firmware installed? Yes to everything. I have a guy who helps me locally who has been a Mac-guy for a looonnnggg time; plus he makes his living in the software industry. As I posted originally, even the Brother Tech Support people tell me that their editor for the Mac is the craps. JerryBaumchen
