pee tests?

Recommended Posts

First off, a pee test is not a good way to determine if you have alcohol in your system. You would almost always rather take a blood or breathalyzer test to determine this. Alcohol will stay in your blood for at least 12 hours, or longer/shorter depending on how much you drank. The same goes for your breath. If say, you drank a whole bottle of John, then you can say thay it'll stay in your blood/breath for about/at least 24 hours. So to answer your questions...

1.) No, alcohol consumed 2 weeks ago will not show up in any sort of test.
2.) Yes, you will fail if alcohol was found in your system. But it's unlikely, if the test is done more then 24 hours after you drank.

You can buy packets of powdered urine to beat drug tests.

Back when I was using , My supplier tried one of those, He failed!

Also, as for being caught , they have many test, depends on what they are testing for! But as mentioned, Alchohol will be long gone after 2 weeks!

Just dont do anything stupid for awhile before the test... Alcohol is not going to be detected in your pee from 2 weeks before, nor will they be looking for alcohol in your pee. Whiz quizzes are used to find drugs, infections, and pregnancy. Im assuming from your questions this one is looking for drugs... BTW, I went to a school where you had to take almost monthly urine tests and and never went more than 3 months without one... And trust me Ive drank in that time frame before them. Like someone else said, theyll be taking your blood or breathalyzing you if theyre looking for that. Good luck!

I've done a ton of pre acess drug and alcohol tests for work. They do a urine test for drugs and usually do a breathalyzer to detect alcohol. I think they've used swabs or some kind of strips before but I can't remember what that was for.

I've gone to these tests feeling pretty hungover and have never failed. Most alcohol tests are basically to see if you can stay sober for at least 8 hours (in my industry anyway:P)

Gas Chromatography is a bitch.

So is voice stress analysis, no more beating the box.

The other day I was at the VA and played the game, I walked in from the parking lot to the clinic 0.5 miles.

I sat down and calmed myself and started bearing down.

I got my pulse rate down to 44bpm.

The nurse was startled, the Doc was not...:D:D:D

He said "some people have it and some people don't"

If I was still in shape I could have dopne something with my BP but it was up at 129/92 because of the walk and me hurting.

Usually it is 120/72-74

do pee tests pick up alcohol?

Typical Urine drug tests aren't used to determine alcohol consumption, but it is possible to detect EtG in the urine within 5-7 days of consumption.

Most testing facilities will disclose if they are to use an EtG test or the standard PBT.

Most urine drug screens only test for 5 things unless the employer pays for the 7 test drug screen. Alcohol will not show up in a basic urine drug screen.

When a person goes into a facility for a drug screen they are not told the type of test that is ordered. In fact most collections sites are unaware of what is being tested. Each company can have up to three different types of drug screen 5 screening test, 7 screening test (both urine and hair) and then there is serum. Just remember they will refuse your urine if it is too diluted and you will have to take a retest. During that time you may not be permitted to work (whatever your company policy may be).

The alcohol swabs based on the brand will test positive if you have chewed certain types of gum, used certain types of mouth wash, use mouth sprays, or have had a long night the night before.

That is why you have to indicate if the patient has been taking any medications at point of collection. Then if the results are positive the patient has to prove to his/her employer why. Most collecting site will not have any notification with positive and or negative results. They normally go directly to the employer. At least this was the situation a few yrs ago but it can vary from facility to facility.

An air traffic controller coworker of mine tested positive for marijuana . . .

He was taking it in pill form for nausea control while undergoing chemo for cancer. He said it was kind of fun listing "marijuana" on the declaration of prescription drugs prior to testing.:P

BTW, he's fine and healthy now. B|

I remember one day I got a surprise call to the company medical center for a urine test. I had just drank an entire 6 pack of beer the night before and had a bit of a hangover when I got the notification. This was one of the nation's largest pipe manufacturers and I know they test all the iron workers, but I was just an office guy. I'm pretty sure they were looking for evidence of drug use, not alcohol. I never heard a word back from them on that test.

As an air traffic controller, I get randomly tested for both. Pee for drugs, breathalyzer for alcohol.

I think by the time alcohol makes it to your urine, it's been metabolized by your body into whatever your liver breaks it down to. You could maybe show someone had been drinking the night before, but you couldn't prove a certain alcohol level in the blood stream, one legal definition of intoxication.

ok thats really my question. and the answer i was looking for. so given that it can only be detected that some one had consumed alcohol with in the past day or 2? but nothing more?
