Blackberry network issues?

Any other Blackberry users seen some problems in the last couple days? Yesterday, I had to re-validate one of my email addresses that I get all my important system down notifications on. Today I did not receive any of those notifications once again between 10:20 and 1:53 then they all flooded in at once. Email and the notifications.

This latest issue has convinced me that I am going to be switching to either the HTC Touch Pro 2 or most likely the Droid at the beginning of the year. I know it's not a cell provider issue because my roommate experienced the same problem and he's with Verizon. I don't have a contract so I can switch whenever. I also don't like that fact that Blackberry wants you to buy a RIM contract in order to have your company emails sent to your phone. I have a way around that but it requires me to set up a seperate web mail account.

You have to validate your email address every so many months. I have 3 emails accts set to my phone and the one i have problems with is hotmail. I get all my msg alerts for emails but today about an hr ago i got flooded with 10 in less than a minute which was odd. Only time that ever happened was when I linked my email accts to my phone.

I've never had to re-validate my gmail account and I didn't yesterday when my other live (hotmail) account asked for validation. If you read that link I provided it tells about the outage they experienced.

Yes, mine did the same thing. Most of my important emails, notifications, including text messages usually come trickling in from midnight to about 6-7am.

This morning, however, went to check on my phone & nothing.....til about 10am, flooded with emails & notifications. My office crew thought my phone was possessed...kept going off.

Yeah, we lost a Citrix server while I was on the road from one of our facilities yesterday and I knew nothing about it. Luckily, my co-worker was in the home office and called me about it. That's when I discovered my live account needed re-validation.

Just wondering, I had recently changed the password on my home email, and found that I have to update the password on the blackberry for it to continue receiving the home emails. I can't remember where I was supposed to go to do that.

On the applications page there is an application named Email Settings. At least that is where I do it on mine, I have a pearl.

I don't have a Blackberry, but a couple of friends who do seem to be the only ones who frequently fail to get SMS messages from me. They just seem to disappear into the ether.

I'm pretty sure SMS does not go through the blackberry servers: its a network service.

Lemme rephrase that: SMS messages do not go through Blackberry.
