so i moved up to jacksonville a few days ago, and the first day i get ehre my computer crashes :( so gotta buy a new one of those things, (hence why i havent been on here if anyone has noticed, lol). anyhoo. get a new place, and the SECOND day im there, i hear this loud bang, i figure its a door slamming, its what it sounded like, so i peek outside, and dont really see/ hear much. anywah, i leave about 10 mins later, to go to wally world, and get back about an hour later, cops are EVERYWHERE! im like WTF?! i walk up to one and ask what the hell is going on in my appt, he says "were investigating a shooting, about an hour ago" turns out that the sound i heard wasnt a door slam, it was the gunshot. evidently dude was a bit of a pharmicist, and had a LOT of traffic coming and going at all hours to his house (which is really stupid because if youre going to deal, DONT EVER deal from your own house!!) anyway, long story short, all the neighbors said he was a really cool guy, and noone had a bad word to say about him, other than the dealing thing. but yeah its just my luck that i would move into a place and the very next day somone gets murdered. evidently its the only the second time that the cops have ever been here, and the first one was for a BS medical call. so i think im gonna stick it out for the remainder of the lease, since rent is cheap

I've spent a decent bit of time in Jacksonville, and my impression was that every building came with it's own drug dealer. I'm pretty sure you'll find it listed on the welcome wagon home page.

Same thing happened to a friend in San Diego a few years back.

Pharmacist was living below my buddy...bang 10X's...& dead guy in the walkway.

Shooters take off, my buddy goes down to look...there's the dead neighbor, holding my friend's handgun, that he must have stolen from his apartment during a visit the day before 'expecting trouble'.

My friend was pissed AND screwed.
