Jewels 0 #8 December 23, 2009 I'd love a picture of the Great Dane with my new little Chihuahua puppy, who, at 4.5 months old, weighs all of 1 lb. 5 oz. THAT would be a great photo to show the contrast!TPM Sister #

The first picture appears to be taken in what is called HDR photography. It is nearly impossible to get all the proper exposures that our eyes can process (High Dynamic Range) into one image. This is done by post processing several different exposures into one image. In effect, is IS 'shopped, but the source looks real to me.
ifall 0 #10 December 23, 2009 My roommate has a Chihuahua and all Albert wants is to play with her but she is mean to him. She lets him chase her when they are outside and it worries me that he may accidentally smash her so I'm always watching. I need to get a pic of them together sometime because she weighs about as much as Albert's tail. Here are some pics to kind of size up how big he is. He is not considered a giant breed just large. ifall 0 #13 December 23, 2009 As you reach for the remote The Dude says "I don't think so!" Nice! @Jewels-Major personality! He's a big goof! Great with kids though, there was peanut butter in that blue toy and he has never snapped at anything getting near his food/treats. Good luck getting it away from him though! Sorry, confused myself, was talking about the photo you postedHaving said that, I think they are using a similar trick in the first photo in the news story with a wide angle lens or composite images, just a bit more subtle. The front of the dog is significantly closer to the camera than the reclining owner. Even so, it's a massive dog!Do you want to have an ideagasm? Andy0689 0 #15 December 24, 2009 Quote The first picture appears to be taken in what is called HDR photography. ... In effect, is IS 'shopped, but the source looks real to me. Dynamic range isn't that wide in that picture. Looks like a posed shot with at least two light sources. What Jakee said.... The effect of the photo was obtained using a wide angle lens. Notice how everything in the foreground is disproportionately large and evertyhing in the background is disproportionately small. Edges were probably cropped to get rid of the barrel distortion that wide lenses cause. I have a 13-24mm zoom that I shoot on a full frame digital that's fun to play with. My kids crack up when they see their pictures with huge noses and little tiny ears. Who'd want to live with that thing? I grew up with Mastiffs and it's just too much dog to have around the house. Not to mention the dollops of slobber all over the walls and ceilings. Fun, beautiful and a pride to own but so much work.Andy I'll believe it when I see it on YouTube!
