Balloon Boy's parents get jail time!

No big deal, they probably want that. It will make their reality show that much more interesting.

I got to thinking about their'sentence'. I thought that 4-yrs. wasn't long enough for them to keep from profiting. Then too, after 4-yrs., who will care? It'll be old news. Also, this guy is a whack job and no self-respecting network would want to mess with him.

After 4-yrs., who will care? I would like to have seen a 'stiffer' penalty but, like you said; "they got something though." I think too, they should have to pay-back all the money it cost to send-out rescue teams and etc. Actually, they got-off light.
I got to thinking too, look at the 'example' those two are to their kids.

Asshats... hope they learn their lesson.

I doubt they will. At least, they can't 'profit' from their actions.

They can profit in other ways as they will probably be guests on some of the late night shows and that could lead to bigger and better things.

Not till four years are up. Talk shows pay union scale and that would be profiting.

Exactly! Such a waste of time and resources! What would have happened if there was a REAL emergency at the same time and lives were actually at stake but all the resources needed were "following the story"?

Once the parents were brought in for questioning, Richard Heene feigned sleep during the lie-detector test, claiming it was some sort of diabetic episode, Lewis said.

And this is absolute BULLSHIT!!! What a pussy he is and a media whore! For the record, my mother is diabetic and I know what an "episode" looks like.

It would be fair if they could never profit from it and if they had to pay for the cost of the "rescue". Even if it were not the entire amount, a sum large enough to make them say, "I'll never even think of doing that shit again. 50 to 100 k sounds about right to me.

I'd say let them do the story, except they won't see a penny of that money. It'll all go to the rescue fund, and yes, fine the shit out of the Heene parents.

I'll take it a step farther and say the kids should get some kind of punishment and some counseling so the understand that what was done was wrong.

Yep. I think Falcon to a sense, knew what was going on was wrong. Remember during the media interview he barfed twice? I'd bet that was from nerves due to having to lie. [:/]

The guy is just a low-life slug, who is too lazy to get a real job. About all he's done is show his kids how to lie and cheat. As for his wife, she's just as bad.

Nope, If they "mention it" on TV, they are in Violation of probation , I have no doubt the judge will make an example out of them, if they fuck up!
