Rstanley0312 1 #176 December 14, 2009 Quote Quote Quote You know what I found amazing? Looking over the statistics for Alabama's rushing offense: Alabama had 2555 net yards rushing on 550 plays. Mark Ingram had 1532 net yards rushing on 249 plays. That comes out to 60% of the yards and 45% of the plays that Mark carried the ball on. Ingram's back-up Trent Richardson had over 600 yards alone. Gerhart's participation level is most likely much higher. iF Ingram had played the same percent of plays that Gerhart did, I bet you that Ingram would have more yards than Gerhart had. I know.... it is pretty amazing. That kid is a tank with insane speed. He has a bright future ahead of him. Alamaba's O line is nasty too so that obviously helps. Oh yeah, the O line was the big surprise of the season. They had to shuffle the line after losing three starters, but they made it work out well. It's even better as a unit overall than last year's line, which had 3 outstanding players and 2 mediocre ones. All Alabama has to do now is re-load every year. Which of course is really easy Did you watch the 30/30 special on The U? It was awesome.Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it.
 BillyVance 35 #200 December 27, 2009 Quote So Billy, how long until you start giving Bama credit for Urban Meyer's retirement? Nah, Urban said he had ignored his health for years. He only knew one speed to coach with, full speed. I suspect that the extremely high expectations for this season coming in, with nearly the entire team coming back from last year, not to mention all the distractions (flu, Tebow's concussion, under-performing offense, and Dunlap's moment of idiocy), and it all culminated in an ass-reaming at the hands of Alabama. That can't feel too good, can it? Funny thing about this one, is that there's a precedent for it too. In 1992 when Alabama last won the national championship, they demolished Auburn 17-0 in what turned out to be Auburn Coach Pat Dye's last game. He resigned. Just in time too, because that was the only time he'd ever been shut out in 10 or 11 years as the head coach of Auburn. Just the circumstances between the departures of each coach were different. Dye had done something wrong previously, and Auburn was about to get hit with probation, so it was time for him to go."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
 Prev 3 4 5 6 7 8 Next Page 8 of 8 Join the conversation You can post now and register later. BillyVance 35 #187 December 16, 2009 QuoteQuoteI don't think I've EVER seen Alabama get six players on the first team, much less an even balance of three on both sides of the ball. I'll have to do a little research though, but I recall that the 1992 team had both defensive ends make 1st team all-americans as well as a LB and a DB that were all-americans. I checked, and 6 All Americans is a school record. The most in the past was 4, several times, including last year. The 1992 team only had 3, all on defense. Even the two previous national championship teams only had 2 in '78 and 3 in '79. Not just a school record, but an AP record for one school. Oklahoma had 5 players twice, in the 80's and most recently when they had Jason White at QB, about 2003?"Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

SkyChimp 0 #189 December 17, 2009 I want to know how the hell FSU got into a bowl ??? Passing other teams up to meet against WV. If I were other teams I would call shenanigans for the political stunt just because Bobby is retiring. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?! The Gator bowl just could not pass up an opportunity to match FSU against West Virginia, the school Bobby Bowden coached before he left to become the FSU coach."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

SkyChimp 0 #193 December 19, 2009 The University of Florida administration just released Dunlap from his suspension. He'll be playing in the Sugar Bowl. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!

I remember when David Palmer of Alabama plowed into the back of a pick up truck one night in the early 90's. I can't remember what year though, but Coach Gene Stallings suspended him for 4 games. I know that I made some poor choices in my youth (not excusing him) but there was no one hurt or property damaged so I think that's why UF is letting him play.
